Currently, HVACR professionals either do not work on TXV systems if it is below 70 deg F outside, or, if it's an emergency techs might use their actual jackets or cardboard to block the air inlet
The problem is those methods are inaccurate
The charging jacket's advantage is that it works to bring the pressure drop across the TXV to at least 160 psi, and therefore has the same effect on the system as higher temperatures do
HVACR professionals can now dramatically extend their billable hours because they can work on systems during the off season
So instead of having the do service contract check-ups during the summer rush, service and maintenance can be start early in the spring, and continue late into the fall
