The UltraLite® Equipment Pads are composed of Type I expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) having a nominal 1-pound-per-cubic-foot (16 kg/cu-m) density. The pads are molded in a form in which a cement slurry and polypropylene ber mat are bonded to five sides of the EPS foam. The pad is offered in both a 2 in (51 mm) or 3 in (76 mm) THK. The composite coating is approximately 7/32 in (5.6 mm) to 1/4 in (6.4 mm) THK on the pad surface. The products are available in various sizes as indicated in Package Metrics.
- Features and More
Features
- 1547 lb allowable load capacity
- Ductile - The skin and core of the UltraLite® lightweight concrete pad is specifically engineered for flexibility and ductility demanded of job site handling, additionally, the ductility of the outer skin facilitates conformance to slight ground contours
- Time/labor savings - Time is money, and hence any time savings on site translates into money saved time/labor savings time is money, and hence any time savings on site translates into money saved
- Concrete surface the concrete external skin of the UltraLite® lightweight concrete pad is not subject to ultraviolet degradation or weathering discoloration
- Vibration absorbing - The engineered polystyrene core to the UltraLite® lightweight concrete pad absorbs and dampens vibration associated with normal operation of a condensing unit
- Water vapor evaporates through the pad, hence the concrete outer skin is not subject to expansion cracks
- Additionally, the surface is resistant to heat from incidental torch flame during site installation
- Outside storage: the UltraLite® lightweight concrete pad is intended for life in the outdoors, as such, the pad is suitable for exterior storage prior to site installation
- Extremely lightweight, the UltraLite pad is a concrete pad at the weight of plastic, about 2.5 lb per square foot
- Flat bottom design provides excellent resistance to sinking and settling
